White Sox Move On

The White Sox just closed out there dominance of the defending champion Red Sox with a 5-3 win. As much as I really don't want to like the White Sox, I have to give them props. They've got a different person stepping up every game. This series was a microcosm of their season. Pierzynski hit 2 homers in game 1 and Contreras pitched great, Iguchi hit the clutch homer in game 2, and Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez added another page to his phenomenal postseason history book. This guys comes in with the bases loaded and nobody out with a one-run lead, and doesn't let a run score. Then he pitches 2 more innings and allows one baserunner. Amazing. It's always someone different with this team. Who is it going to be in the ALCS? Crede? Rowand? Uribe? Everyone in their lineup is capable of hitting a big homerun.

I live in Chicago and have gotten real sick of all the White Sox talk, but they proved that they deserve all of the fan excitement. I am going to silently cheer for a White Sox collapse, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm expecting an I-55 World Series between the Cardinals and the White Sox.
